These bidirectional DC contactors can switch high powers in a small space. With a making capacity of up to 2,500A, this compact switchgear is suitable for applications with high inrush currents or high capacities.

All versions can continuously conduct up to 500 amps. In the event of a short circuit, they can even carry 3,000A for one second without the contacts welding. Therefore, the contactor maintains its full function to disconnect high power ranges if necessary, up to 500A and 1,500V – irrespective of the current direction. This full bidirectionality is important for systems with charging and discharging processes, such as battery networks or electric vehicles. Other typical application areas include the DC circuit in inverters, combiner boxes in photovoltaic systems, or the management of battery storage systems.
