Cable & Hose Drums

Cable & Hose Drums
Drum in the other name of reel can be define as a mechanism. Reels are a component that rotates around a rotating axis. This rotating axis is usually driven by a motor or other power source. They are using for to transport, store or translate mechanical energy. For example, reels can be useful in industrial machinery and equipment, power generation plants, water production plants, ships and submarines, aircraft, plastics and rubber industry, metalworking, mining, construction, underground work, robotics and automation, medical and dentistry. Hoses or cables are wound neatly on reels, making them easier to transport or distribute. The reels provide protection to ensure that the hoses or cables can be use for a long time.

Additionally, industrial hose or cable reels are available in various sizes and capacities. These reels can be hand-turned manually or can operate automatically. However, automatic reels are generally used in larger processes and can handle higher capacities of hose or cable. In addition, these reels can be coated with special protective coatings to ensure the hoses or cables are used for a long time.

Collection Types of Drums
Industrial hose or cable reels can be classified in different ways according to their collection method. These include;
Manual Reels: These types of reels require manual turning and handling. These reels are generally used in small operations or on-site operations.
Automatic Reels: Operated by electric or hydraulic systems. These reels are used in larger operations or for handling hose or cable at higher capacities.
Portable Reels: These reels are movable and portable, used for winding hoses or cables anywhere. This makes it possible to perform operations on site.

Electrical Reels:
Electrical engines are widely used in drums because they are efficient, reliable and easy to control. Drums that use an electric motor to rotate the drum and to wind or unwind materials such as cables and hoses are called electric motor driven drums. The drum mechanism typically consists of an electric motor, a drum, a gearbox and a control system.

Reducer:
It reduces the output speed of the motor, so the reel runs slower and more controlled. This ensures that hoses or cables are wound more smoothly and less damaged. The reducer also allows the reel to run at higher capacities.
Slip Ring Unit:
Slip ring is an apparatus used in drum systems. In systems operating on reel drums, it is located inside the rotating drum. The slip ring allows cables or hoses moving in the direction of the drum rotation to be connected to a stationary point.

Spring Cable & Hose Reels:
Spring-loaded cable reels are used for the orderly winding and unwinding of cables, hoses or ropes. Therefore, especially in cranes, stacking devices or wastewater technology, these helical spring-operated drums are often used for mobile devices without their own power supply.
