Sliprings on-vehicle equipments

A slip ring is a device that used to transmit electrical power and datas from a stationary part to a rotary part. It is used in a wide range of vehicles such as tankers, trailers, tanks and fire brigade trucks.

In tanker, the sliprings ensure continuous power and signal connections. It transfers power from engine and battery to pump and sprayer system. The slipring consists of a rotating ring and stationary brushes. It is mounted on the end of a rotating shaft. The rotating ring is made of metal rings. The sliprings ensure continuous and uninterrupted transmission of power and signal as the trailer is turning. In this way, the sliprings ensure securely operation of the trailer’s electrical system.

On fire brigade trucks the slip rings ensure electrical connection to turntable ladder. They transmit from the stationary structure such as the truck’s cab to the ladder.

Also slip rings are preferred in tanks. They transmit electrical power and signal to turret or gun barrel. Even as the turret org un barrel rotates, power and signals are transferred continuously. The uninterrupted communication is so important in weapon systems and turret-mounted cameras.
